Secure Shredder: permanently delete files
Overwrite files and folders so they can't be recovered, and choose the right shred level.
How to shred
- Open Toolbox → Secure Shredder.
- Drag a file or folder onto the window, or use Browse.
- Choose a level and click Delete Permanently.
Levels
Low, Medium and High overwrite the data with more passes each. Higher levels take longer on large folders.
Important
- Shredded files can't be restored, not even by TuneUP. They don't go to the Recycle Bin.
- Files in use by another program can't be shredded; close it first.
- On SSDs, overwriting is less absolute because of how the drive manages storage. For full drive disposal, also use the drive's secure-erase tool.
