Uninstall programs together with their leftovers

When you uninstall a program in Windows, its folders and settings are often left behind. The TuneUP Uninstaller runs the program's own uninstaller first, then finds what's left so you can clean it up.

  • Finds folders and registry entries left after uninstalling
  • Force Delete for programs with a broken uninstaller
  • Sort programs by name, size or install date
TuneUP: Uninstall programs together with their leftovers

How do you uninstall a program in Windows?

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  2. Click the three dots next to the program and choose Uninstall.
  3. When it's done, check Program Files and AppData by hand for leftover folders.

The Windows uninstaller usually leaves the program's settings and data folders behind, and programs with a broken uninstaller may not be removable this way at all.

Remove it completely with TuneUP

  1. Open the Uninstaller from the sidebar in TuneUP and select the program.
  2. Confirm; TuneUP runs the program's uninstaller and waits for it to finish.
  3. If "Leftovers found!" appears, review the list and remove them.

Frequently asked questions

Only when a program's uninstaller is missing or broken. Force Delete removes the program's files and entry without running its uninstaller.

Should I do anything before uninstalling?

Close the program first. Some uninstallers ask for a restart; restart before removing leftovers.
